2009 E3 Conferences (Impression)

E3

I’ll be writing a little about what I thought of E3 and the titles that came out. I mostly ignore the multi-platform titles as they clash, so I’ll mostly be talking about exclusive or surprising announcements. I’ll apologize before hand and say that this is just rambling of a kid who doesn’t know better. Here are my thoughts. Read the rest of this entry »

FFXIII not a jRPG? I call BS!

Posted in Misc at 4:48 pm by KuroNekoXIII

“There’s a trend these days to strictly categorize games as western RPGs or Japanese RPGs, but Final Fantasy is something that we don’t try to categorize as either/or”. “For us, the game straddles genre”

If it’s not a jRPG, then what is it? It’s Japanese, and its a role playing game. Best part yet, its freaking Final Fantasy, the embodiment of jRPG! So yeah…

It’s a fucking jRPG.

High textures > Low textures

mioblog

I found out I had to wear glasses sometime last year (nearsighted) as I wasn’t able to read what’s on the board or signs properly anymore…

So anyway, something I figured out and played around with during a lecture was to look out the window. I could see this tree swaving around (no glasses at this point) and thought oooo pretty… for no particular reason. However, I decided to put my glasses on and o.O! Graphics was tweaked from low to high like in a game (texture settings), cause I was able to see every leaf clearly as oppose to just a blurr. Such as if you were playing a game like Crysis or even Oblivion, there are settings which will make trees look either really ugly like color brushed leaves but then when tweaked to high settings u can see each individual leaf with detail and its waviness in the wind. It’s exactly like that. This was the point where I realize maybe I really am blind ….   :’(

p.s.  yes, it’s a random topic that I decided to write early morning…

I’ve managed to catch up on a lot of series this week (and as a consequence, didn’t study for my exams at all, totally screwed for that, but I don’t want to bother people with that nonsense). I’ll just list two episodes today. Read the rest of this entry »

The title is rightly so, exams are so near and I better get my act together! (oh and the OP of ED of K-ON is out, YAY!)
Not much has happened over the weak, a lot of the coursework is out of the way not, just a few more presentations and onto hardcore revision… can’t wait till I get to go home! Read the rest of this entry »

A dying scream makes no sound…

This weekend I had a huge gaming session playing Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty: World at War with my brother (and step bros). It was a lot of fun~! Gaming for me has gotten to a stage where I no longer enjoy it unless I’m playing it with family and friends, playing alone or playing for skill just isn’t enjoyable anymore. That’s not to say immersive and epic singleplayer (RPG especially) games are not going to be fun anymore, I’ll still love those no doubt. Read the rest of this entry »

Why do we play video games?

Posted in Misc at 2:29 pm by KuroNekoXIII

“We play video games because there are a number of hours in a day between when you are born and when you are going to die. You gotta fill some of those with as much sex as you can get and as much food as you can eat and as much money as you can make, but in the end of the day you’ve got more hours to fill and you might as well spend those hours pretending to be a criminal on a rampage or a space marine. It’s better than sitting outside on the porch twiddling your thumbs wishing you had something to do”

Using Expose/Spaces on Mac OSX

Posted in Misc at 8:11 pm by KuroNekoXIII

picture-2

It’s nothing new, existed on Mac’s forever…. but hey, I’m new to this operating system so you can’t really blame me.

I have known of the existence, but never really tried to use it, until recently when I really wanted to multi-task without having to minimze or move between apps on the same screen (especially since I connected a console as well). Therefore, I wanted to give spaces a try.

The uses I have found with it, is the ability to organize apps in seperate screens. For example (looking at screenshot above), i can have all the social media such as IM, Skype, twitter client all in one screen, a browser on another, media such as music or videos on another and finally (top right screen in SS) even a PS2 console connected at the same time (its the opening of Star Ocean 3 if you were curious). Oh and its quite enjoyable to change screens on the go =P
